Mary Jo grew up in the Midwest, graduated from the University of Wisconsin, and earned a master’s degree at Loras College in Iowa.  

After early stints in advertising, Mary Jo spent many years in Marketing Communications for a Fortune 500 company.  In this capacity, Mary Jo was responsible for international client conferences and related events.  She directed customer advisory boards populated by representatives of public and private enterprises across the globe.   

Public service has been an important component of Mary Jo’s life, culminating in her current efforts to assist PACE Universal in its mission to transport children at risk from a life of poverty into a future of realized capabilities.  Prior activities include presiding over a community and a state arts council, conducting fundraising campaigns for elementary and high school programs, and service as a member of Rotary. 

Mary Jo lives in Solvang, California.
