What We Do
PACE is committed to ending trafficking and uplifting communities through the education of girls and women living in extreme poverty—girls who don’t have access to schooling and whose societies devalue and discard them. An education changes girls’ lives. It gives them a future.
But we are more than a learning center. Our program invests in the holistic development of not only students but also their families. PACE engages entire communities, providing the building blocks needed to make systemic change and shake poverty’s powerful grip.
And it all begins with girls.
PACE offers girls a complete academic curriculum, but they learn more than math and science. Our holistic program nurtures their social, cultural and nutritional development and inspires them to be leaders in their communities.
By educating girls, we empower them. They become more confident in themselves and feel inspired to make lasting change in their communities. PACE also helps shape the societal perception of girls in the world’s poorest regions. Equipped with a basic education, girls are viewed as an asset in their families and communities and no longer a liability.
In an impoverished village, the learning center becomes the center of a new economy. It elevates the entire community. Through our partnership with NGOs such as Rotary International, PACE provides each village with clean water, sanitation, infrastructure and micro-credit loans. Residents help complete the necessary work, creating a mutually beneficial relationship between PACE and the village.
PACE’s education-based model serves as an archetype for preventing child trafficking and elevating people out of extreme poverty throughout the world. It’s sustainable and successful, and it’s already being replicated by organizations in other countries.
